The ARGOS FP7 Project 1st year Review meeting successfully took place between the 27th and 29th of January 2015 at the city of Tampere in Finland. The consortium presented the progress of the project and the relative results achieved during the first year.

HI-IBERIA presented ARGOS at the 2nd National R&D Congress of Defence and Security 2014 (DESEi+d 2014) in Spain

HI-Iberia presented ARGOS at the 2nd National R&D Congress of Defence and Security 2014 (DESEi+d 2014) celebrated from November 6th to 7th in the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, Spain.

DESEi+d 2014 aims at gathering R&D groups of Spanish universities, Public Research Bodies, companies an R&D groups of Spanish Armed Forces and Security Bodies to promote the technological research and innovation carried out in the field of Defence and Security, to share experiences and knowledge, and to foster future collaborations between different stakeholders.

Mira Telecom has exhibited the relevance of Argos Project at the Milipol Qatar exhibition, October 2014

Mira Telecom was present at Milipol International Exhibition of internal State security Police Equipment, Industrial Site Security and Civil Defense with “Advanced Protection of Critical Buildings by Overall Anticipating Systems” ARGOS Project. 
Milipol Qatar continues to be the biggest international exhibition in the Middle-East, dedicated to internal State Security. The exhibition took place from October 20 to 22 at Doha Exhibition Centre. The Milipol Qatar exhibition is being held under the aegis of the Ministry of Interior of Qatar, who has appointed a "Milipol Qatar Committee", made of four high ranked officials. It has made a name of itself through the professionalism and the quality of its exhibitors and visitors, all linked to the public and industrial security sectors.

ARGOS Project Presentation in CRITIS 2014 International Conference

CRITIS 2014 continues a well-established tradition of successful annual conferences. It aims at bringing together researchers and professionals from academia, industry and governmental organizations working in the field of the security of critical infrastructure systems.

Modern society relies on the availability and smooth operation of a variety of complex engineering systems. These systems are termed Critical Infrastructure Systems (CIS). Some of the most prominent examples of critical infrastructure systems are electric power systems, telecommunication networks, water distribution systems, transportation systems, wastewater and sanitation systems, financial and banking systems, food production and distribution, and oil/natural gas pipelines.

Ethical and legal constraints for ARGOS system: Why and how to identify them?

There are several reasons to explore potential ethical and legal implications stemming from innovations in Critical Infrastructure (CI) protection. At a first sight, everyone understands that CI must be safeguarded, and that it might require some restrictive measures: you just cannot freely walk through and do whatever you want in a facility, which provides an electricity, potable water, or gas for a city populated with a million fellow citizens. On the other hand, does any infrastructure deserve a right to impose limitations on people’s freedom of move, or even break their privacy when they get any closer? These are questions that arise with deploying technical measures of CI physical security. ARGOS system is going to be such a technical measure. Development of such a technological platform does not take place in a vacuum.
