KEMEA, being the Greek National Contact Point of
the European Program on Critical Infrastructure Protection (EPCIP), in
cooperation with the ARGOS project and the CIPRE-NET project represented by the
Joint Research Center Ispra of the European Commission, jointly organized a
two-day workshop on "Protection of Critical Infrastructures".
The training program was held on KEMEA premises
on the 14 & 15 December, 2015 and was attended by over 160 specialist
representatives on critical infrastructures. In the framework of presenting the
European acquis, expert speakers from KEMEA and the Joint Research Center
presented innovative methods and solutions for the protection of critical
facilities against man-made and natural risks.
The conference was attended by several
operators and owners of critical infrastructures in Greece providing a range of
diverse services across a variety of sectors.
A comprehensive ARGOS project presentation was made to the participants
and videos related to the two trials of the project (Bucharest and Athens) were
shown. The latest ARGOS Newsletter and brochure was distributed in the Workshop
folder. Representatives of the Dutch NCP of the EPCIP program attended the
workshop, Greek Government Officials and representative of law enforcement
agencies and services such as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Citizen
Protection, the General Secretary of Civil Protection, high ranking Officers of
the Hellenic Police and the Hellenic Fire Service, and Executive Officers
representing the European Critical Infrastructures, as well as the National
Critical Infrastructures.
